POVERTY SIMULATIONS
The ADHE/CPI Poverty Simulation is designed to help people better understand the realities of poverty. Participants include staff members of various human service agencies and local civic, community leaders, and students. This program helps people understand the complexities and frustrations of living in poverty day to day.
Participants role-play the lives of low-income families. They have the stressful task of providing for basic necessities and shelter on a limited budget during the course of four 15-minutes "weeks."
ADHE/CPI has 2 certified trainers and provides this professional development opportunity for the CPI sites and their partnering agencies.

Shaneka - University of Arkansas Community College at Hope
“CPI’s support has helped me graduate with an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science. Without their help, it would not have been possible. My experience with Career Pathways has led me to be a role model for my two girls, ages 17 and 10. They have witnessed you can never be too old or too poor to achieve your goals. I am now a successful single mom and they see that women can be as successful as men. With CPI’s help, my dreams and family are now a success story, not a tragedy. Thank you so much!!!”
